Title IX is a federal civil rights law included in the Education Amendments of 1972 that prohibits discrimination based on sex (including sexual harassment), in educational programs and activities that receive federal funds. All students, families, employees, and community members, regardless of gender identity participating in programs, activities, and services sponsored by the School District of Lee County are subject to and protected by, the provisions of Title IX. The School District of Lee County includes and enforces the requirements of Title IX in its policies and procedures, including complaint investigation and resolution. Complaints of discrimination and/or sexual harassment should be directed to the School Equity Coordinator or appropriate District Title IX Coordinator.
