What
is ParentLink?
The
ParentLink is a telephone and internet browser application that allows
parents and students to view up to the minute information about classes, grades
or attendance at any time via telephone or through the internet.
Will anyone else
be able to see my child’s information through ParentLink?
No. In order to
view a student’s information you must have both the student login number and the
password. Only authorized parents/guardians will have access to their child’s
grades and attendance information.
How current is the
information I am viewing through the ParentLink?
Information on Grades and Attendance is uploaded every evening from our school
to the ParentLink System
Attendance:
Original daily attendance is entered each day by school staff and/or teachers.
This attendance will be as current as possible. If you have sent in a note to
excuse an absence, this may take up to a day to appear in ParentLink.
Grades:
The grades viewed in the various ParentLink reports should be considered a “snapshot in
time”, and these grades are subject to change as teachers enter scores into
their gradebooks. Our school based requirement is that the teachers update on
a biweekly basis.
If you have any
questions regarding grades or attendance, please contact the appropriate teacher
FIRST. He or she will be the first contact regarding what is shown in the
gradebook.
What
do all those attendance codes mean?
All
schools are required to keep track of a student’s daily attendance to school.
The following codes are used to record a student’s daily attendance:
AEAE
All Day Absence Excused
AUAU
All Day Absence Unexcused
TETE
Tardy to School Excused
TUTU Tardy to School Unexcused
SRSR
School Related Absence – Full Day (Field trip, all day testing, etc.)
ISIS In School Suspension – Full Day
OSOS
Out of School suspension – Full Day
Middle
Schools also track each student’s attendance in their specific classes. The
following codes are used to record this by period attendance:

Period Absent Excused
PAU
Period Absent Unexcused
PTE
Period Tardy Excused
PTU

What is the Email Notification system?
This system works with our Pinnacle Gradebook System to allow parents to receive automated notification of your child’s grades and/or attendance delivered directly to you via your email account.
